When I got my skills
Zoomph - June 2015 to Present
I work as a Front-End Developer at Zoomph. I help implement visuals that interact with social media to help track trends and find insights within the data. Largely, I work with Javascript and C# in my day to day work, with a focus on MVC frameworks like Angular combined with external libraries like Highcharts.
Old Dominion University - August 2011 to Present
I am in the process of finishing my Bachelors in Computer Science. For my senior project, I helped implement a syllabary-generation unit that has the goal of preserving the language of the Nottaway, a local Native American tribe. Utilizing Laravel, a PHP MVC framework, I was tasked with helping with front-end UI creation along with handling all of the Web Audio API calls. I even applied for a research position at the University of Tokyo to study distributed computation via the illustrious Monbusho Scholarship. I was a top 4 finalist for the position in South East USA.

Why I do what I do
Startup and Web Dev Culture
I have a strong love for web development within startup life. I highly identify with the idealism of exploring the web frontier, and utilizing new exciting tools. I have attended multiple Javascript meetups and conferences to learn of new ideas and technologies, and I love exploring new libraries and internet cultures. I feel I was made to do what I do, and I love every bit of it.
Helping families with special needs children (2009 - 2014)
I worked for 5 years for Puplic Partnerships, LLC. as an attendant for children with special needs. I cared for a variety of children, and I was tasked with taking them out and helping them socialize in a way that is acceptable. Thanks to my experiences in PPL, I know how to interact with others in a way that is both professional and fitting. The job really helped define who I am today; I saw a variety of different lifestyles and personal backgrounds during my time at PPL.
